Moscow.
We were in Moscow three times. The first and very strong impression for American students was Moscow underground. They liked very much our beautiful stations. For the first time we came to Moscow to show our guests the Kremlin, cathedrals and museums. The second time we went to Moscow because Americans wanted to go shopping. We visited Ohotnii Riad, G.U.M. (Main Universal Store), the Arbat street. At the last our visit we came to see the rest of Moscows places of interest.

Moscow:
Most of the students involved in the exchange went to Moscow at least three times. The first trip took place on the 21st of July. All of the students went to Moscow on a bus, which we had earned for working at Ekomebel. Once we arrived at Moscow, we went to the Kremlin to participate in a tour there. We saw many things inside the Kremlin including the Tsars Bell, the Tsars Cannon, the Armory full of gorgeous items, many political buildings and several churches. Then we left the Kremlin to see the Red Square and the changing of the guards at the World War II memorial. Afterwards we went to a mall for supper and then to a traditional Russian circus where we were entertained by numerous artists who performed many daring acts. Then we departed for home.

On the 23rd of July, Masha, Sam, Rita, Lenas mom Sveta, Lena and I (Barbara) went to Moscow on the train for a day. Upon arriving in Moscow, we took the Metro to Moscow State University where we met up with Alex. He showed us around the Moscow State University complex, which is the dream school of many Russian students, and the highest point of Moscow where we could see a panoramic view of the city. We returned to the mall, which we visited on the 21st where we met up with Carly, Pasha and Pashas parents. There we went shopping, ate, played hacky sack and saw the backs of the horse statues ?. We continued our shopping spree by going to GUM and then to Arbat Street to buy souvenirs. And sadly after that, our train to Dubna was leaving so we had to return back home.

Our final trip to Moscow was on the 27th of July. Jess, Sam, Masha, Carly, Eva, Dane, Grigor, Rita, Ljudmila, Lena and I (the infamous Barbara?) boarded a train to Moscow in the early morning. At first, we went shopping at GUM and strolled around the Red Square. Then we visited the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and a square with a statue of Pushkin. And we continued our mornings shopping that afternoon by going down the Arbat Street. After shopping, we went to a park outside of Moscow where we could play hacky sack and hang out. Once we were getting tired of playing hacky sack, we went to the Metro station where we saw some very talented break-dancers. And then it was time to return to the train station in Moscow to go back to Dubna.

I was really impressed by Moscow because it was beautiful. I especially liked the Metro stations because they were each uniquely and ornately decorated in a special way. I liked how many of the Metro stations decorations had some connection to Russian history or culture since it helped us Americans learn something about Russia, for example some important war victories. I also enjoyed the historic places, which were excellently maintained. Thank you Ljudmila, Nadia, Alex and Rita for helping make these three trips memorable.

(By the way, I didnt include the two times we were at the airport. But then again, not a lot happened at the airportit was just a normal airport and nothing too exciting happens at airports, just a lot of happiness when we arrived and sadness when we left).
